Alan Ritchie
Owner / Funeral Director
Alan is a 1978 graduate of the Bedford High School, a 1982
graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa with a degree
in Business / Biology. He graduated from Kansas City Mortuary
School in 1983 and served his internship under Boyd Novinger at the
Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford. In November of 1982 he was
united in marriage to Kristi Gustoff. The couple have three grown
children, Kyle, Kara and Kirsten. Alan's interests include spending
time with his family; riding his Harley with his wife and
traveling. Alan feels truly honored and humbled to serve and be
supported by the four communities. He feels very proud of all the
facilities and staff. |

Kristi Ritchie
Owner / Office Manager
Kristi is a 1980 graduate of Clay Central High School in Royal,
Iowa. She attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg and
graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in 1981. In November of
1982 she was united in marriage to Alan Ritchie. The couple have
three children, Kyle, Kara and Kirsten. Kristi's interests spending
time with her family, walking and reading. She truly enjoys
spending time with her children and "taking care of them" when they
come home for a visit. |

Scott E Nelson
Funeral Director
Scott Nelson was born in Harlan, Iowa; he's the son of Verne
and Ilene (Hansen) Nelson of Harlan. Scott graduated from Harlan
Community High School and obtained his Associates Degree in Liberal
Arts from Des Moines Area Community College in 2009. He enrolled in
the Mortuary Science Program at Des Moines Area Community College,
graduating in 2010. Since 2006, Scott worked at Pauley Jones
Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa and began his internship in December
of 2010 with Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, IA.
After completing his internship; Scott received his Iowa funeral
director's license in December of 2011. In April of 2012, Scott was
united in marriage to Natasha Hughes of Walnut, IA. Natasha
currently works for New Balance Commodities in Nodaway, IA. In July
of 2012, Scott joined the Ritchie Funeral Home family. Scott and
Natasha made Corning, IA their home. Scott is incredibly honored to
be assisting the families of Southwestern Iowa.
His passions include the outdoors, hunting, fishing,
barbecuing, and vacationing.

Tom Merrick
Funeral Director
Tom has served the area as a funeral director since 1968, a former
owner and operator of funeral services. Tom and his wife Margaret
reside in Clarinda. They have two daughters, Maggie and husband
Rich Davitt of Des Moines, Iowa and Mandy of Jackson Hole, Wyoming
and two granddaughters, Abbey and Andie. |

Lorenne Muller
Office Manager
Lorenne is a graduate of Clarinda High School and has always lived
in the community. She and husband Duane Muller have five children
and two grandchildren. Lorenne enjoys traveling to see her children
and grandchildren. She also enjoys volunteering in her community
and church, flower gardening, walking, reading and baking. She has
been a administrative assistant in the funeral service profession
for ten years. |

Jeff Cummings
Jeff Cummings is a life-time resident of Bedford, Iowa. He
graduated from high school with the Class of 1997 and went on to
attend Iowa State University. He worked for Sequel Youth Services
for 5 years before he became active with the Ritchie Funeral Homes.
He was united in marriage to Tara Still in 2001 and they are
blessed with two children, Tristen and Sabrina. They continue to
live in the Bedford community.

Darrel Sump
Darrel grew up in the Clarinda area and is a graduate of
Clarinda High School. Darrel and his wife Melanie have a combined
family of seven children and thirty one grandchildren. Following
his retirement from NSK Corporation, Darrel has been assisting with
funerals for six years and also taking care of his lawn care
service. Darrel enjoys gardening and stain glass art projects. |

Bev Evans
Bev is a graduate of Clarinda High School and has lived
in Clarinda all of her life with the exception of six years in
northern Iowa. Her husband, Richard Evans, passed away in 2001. She
worked in retail for 14 years, as a paraprofessional in the
Clarinda Elementary School for nine years. Bev has assisted in the
office for two years. She enjoys reading, keeping photo albums up
to date and shopping. |
