Obituary for Donna Ruth Wheeler

Donna Ruth (Twigg) Wheeler was born October 6, 1934 at the family home in Plover, Iowa the daughter of Cecil Arthur Twigg and Neva Leila (Shoemaker) Twigg. She grew up attending school in Plover, graduating from Plover High School. She then went on to attend Capital City Commerical College in Des Moines obtaining her Bachelors Degree while working various office jobs. On June 1, 1957, she was united in marriage to Carl Leland Wheeler in Plover, Iowa. A son, Ronald Lee was born to bless their lives.

After their marriage the couple moved to Hammond, Indiana where they lived for a year and a half, returning to Storm Lake, Iowa where she worked while Carl finished college at Buena Vista. Carl began teaching and the family moved various places in Iowa. Eventually they settled in rural College Springs in 1971-72. They moved to Shambaugh in 1978, where they build a new home in 1999. Carl passed away July 13, 2001. Donna was Page County Treasurer for over thirteen years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Clarinda, Clarinda Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Republican Women.

Left to cherish Donna’s memory is her daughter-in-law, Debra Wheeler of Glenwood, Iowa; two grandsons, Kyle Lee and Braden Lee William Wheeler; two sisters, Joan Hall of Knoxville, Iowa; and Judith Rutter and husband Philip of Wilton, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Rita Spencer and husband Richard of Gillispie, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Terry Moore and wife Beverly of Gillispie, Illinois; and another sister-in-law, Loretta Wheeler of Carlinville, Illinois; along with many other family members and friends.

Preceding Donna in death are her parents, Cecil and Neva Twigg; her loving husband Carl Wheeler; her son, Ronald Lee Wheeler; two brothers-in-law, Earl Randall Wheeler and Max Hall; a brother, Arthur Twigg and wife Betty; a nephew, Jeff Rutter; and a sister-in-law Gloria Contratto.

May Donna be at peace in God’s loving care.
