Obituary for Joy Beth Dailey

Joy Dailey, age 83, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Friday, June 14, 2019 at Westridge Care & Rehab Center, Clarinda, Iowa. Graveside Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation and a luncheon will be held Wednesday at Ritchie Funeral Home from 12 noon to 1:30 PM with the family greeting friends. Inurnment will be held at the Clarinda Cemetery Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Joy Dailey Memorial. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on our website at, www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa, where we ‘Celebrate Life’.

Joy Beth Buss Dailey was born October 16, 1935 to Claude and Lillie (Silkett) Buss in Griswold, Iowa. Joy was the fourth of five children. She grew up in Griswold and Clarinda and graduated from Clarinda High School in 1954. Joy was united in marriage to Allen Dailey June 5, 1955. Two daughters were born to this union, Vickie Lynne and Mary Kay.

Joy worked at the Clarinda Company, Clarinda, Iowa for more than twenty five years and enjoyed telling people that she was a stripper (film stripper!)

Preceding Joy in death were here parents, Claude and Lillie Buss; in-laws, Bill and Pearl Dailey; husband, Allen Dailey in 1991; sisters, Clauda Graham, Mara Lee Bramble, Ann Hamilton; granddaughter, Amanda Auten.

Left to cherish Joy’s memory are daughters, Vickie Auten (Larry) of Clarinda, Iowa and Mary Kay Nelson (Jim) of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, David Davenport (Kim) and family of Gretna, Nebraska, Heather Dailey and family of Newton, Kansas, Joseph Nelson, Andrew Nelson and Sean Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska, Tiffany Wolfe and husband Scot of Lawson, Missouri, Jeremy Auten and girls of Clarinda, Iowa; brother, Bill Buss of Ames, Iowa; brother-in-law, Richard Graham of College Springs, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
